Best practices
1. Be specific with keywords
Overly generic keywords return a large volume of results that are hard to review.
Good example: Starbucks Frappuccino Avoid: coffee
2. Split groups by purpose
- One for monitoring your own brand
- One for monitoring competitors
- One for industry trends
Splitting groups by purpose makes them easier to manage.
3. Match frequency to purpose
- Daily: Right after a PR announcement, during a campaign, or when speed matters
- Weekly: Regular ongoing monitoring
- Monthly: Tracking long-term trends
