Here are answers to frequently asked questions about TVPulse.


About the product

Q. What is TVPulse?

TVPulse is a SaaS platform that uses AI technology to analyze TV broadcasts, offering keyword search and exposure analysis. It searches keywords across captions, audio, and video, and can be used for marketing and PR activities.

Q. What can it be used for?

  • Monitoring your own or competitors' TV exposure
  • Measuring PR effectiveness
  • Trend analysis and market research
  • Verifying advertising effectiveness
  • Gathering program and commercial information

Q. Can I search in real time?

Currently, only archived (past broadcast) data can be searched. Real-time analysis is planned for release in January 2026.

Q. How far back does the searchable data go?

You can search approximately 2 years of archived data.

Q. Which channels are supported?

Kanto region (7 stations):

  • NTV (Nippon Television)
  • EX (TV Asahi)
  • TBS
  • TX (TV Tokyo)
  • CX (Fuji TV)
  • NHK General
  • MX (TOKYO MX)

Kansai region (5 stations):

  • ABC (Asahi Broadcasting)
  • MBS (Mainichi Broadcasting)
  • KTV (Kansai Television)
  • TVO (TV Osaka)
  • SUN (Sun Television)

Q. Do you support BS/CS broadcasts?

Currently only terrestrial broadcasts are supported. BS/CS support is planned for future development.

Q. Do you support regional stations outside Kanto/Kansai?

Currently only Kanto's 7 stations and Kansai's 5 stations are supported, but we plan to expand to other regions over time.


Pricing and plans

All plans require a one-time setup fee of ¥100,000 (excl. tax).

Q. Is there a free trial?

We do not currently offer a free trial. Please contact us if you'd like a demo.

Q. What payment methods are available?

  • Invoice (billed at month-end, due end of the following month)
  • Credit card

Q. Is there a minimum contract term?

The minimum contract term is 1 month, with automatic monthly renewal.

Q. Can I change plans partway through?

  • Upgrade: Takes effect the following month
  • Downgrade: Takes effect after the current contract term ends

Search features

Q. What search methods are available?

  • Text search - Search captions and subtitles
  • Audio search - Search spoken content (speech recognition)
  • Visual search (alpha) - Search objects within footage

You can select multiple search types at the same time.

Q. Can I do AND/OR searches?

Yes, you can.

  • coffee AND Starbucks - Results containing both
  • coffee OR tea - Results containing either

Up to 3 keywords can be combined.

Q. What's the difference between exact match and related match?

  • Exact match: Shows only results that exactly match the entered keyword
  • Related match: Also includes similar expressions and related terms (accuracy may be lower)

Q. Can I search programs and commercials separately?

Yes. The commercial filter lets you configure:

  • Programs + Commercials (both)
  • Programs only (commercials excluded)
  • Commercials only

Q. Are images or videos shown in the results?

Search results show program information (program name, air date/time, channel, genre) and an AI summary. Commercial searches also show thumbnail images.


Account

Q. What's the login URL?

You can log in at tvpulse.io/account.

Q. I forgot my password

  1. Click "Forgot your password?" on the login screen
  2. Enter your registered email address
  3. You'll receive a reset email
  4. Set a new password using the link in the email

Q. I'd like to add an account

  • Starter: Cannot add accounts (fixed at 1)
  • Standard: Can be added for ¥20,000/person (monthly)
  • Enterprise: Unlimited within the same company (no additional fee)

Q. Can I log in from multiple devices at the same time?

Yes, you can log in to the same account from multiple devices simultaneously.


Notification feature

Q. Which plan includes the notification feature?

It's available on the Standard plan or above.

Q. Can I choose the notification frequency?

You can choose from daily, weekly, or monthly. The notification time can also be set between 0:00 and 23:00.

Q. How many keywords can I register?

You can configure up to 5 groups. There's no limit on the number of keywords within each group.

Q. Notification emails aren't arriving

  1. Check your spam folder
  2. Allow-list @sdio.co.jp
  3. Check that notifications are enabled in your settings

Data and analysis

Q. Can I download search results?

Report downloads are available on the Standard plan or above.

  • Standard: up to 3 keywords
  • Enterprise: up to 100 keywords

Q. What is the heatmap?

A feature that color-codes exposure volume by day of week and time of day, making it easy to see at a glance which days and times have the most exposure.

Q. What are trend rankings?

Weekly and monthly exposure time rankings, across three categories:

  • Talent ranking (celebrities and talent)
  • Product ranking (products and brands)
  • Regional ranking (prefectures)

Q. What is the AI summary?

A feature where AI analyzes the search results and automatically summarizes the context in which the keyword was used. Related keywords are also extracted.


Troubleshooting

Q. My search returns zero results

  1. Check the keyword's spelling (hiragana/katakana/kanji)
  2. Widen the date range
  3. Add a search type (text/audio)
  4. Try a more general keyword

Q. The page is loading slowly

  1. Clear your browser cache
  2. Shorten the date range
  3. Narrow down the target channels
  4. Try a different browser

Q. I'm seeing an error

Please contact support via the chat icon in the bottom-right of the screen. Sharing the error message helps us respond more quickly.

Q. Can I use it on a smartphone?

We recommend using a PC or tablet. It's accessible on smartphones, but some features may be harder to use due to screen size.
